Read these chilling statistics: • 49% of Ethiopian families in Israel live with 2 or more people in each room. • 70% of Ethiopian families in Israel have no incoming salary. • The average salary of Ethiopian Jews in Israel keeps them below the poverty line. • 45% of Ethiopian Jewish parents in Israel cannot yet speak basic Hebrew. • Due to multiple hardships, the number of juvenile delinquents is double what it is among non-Ethiopian Israeli teens. Improving employment, education, community empowerment can make a huge difference relatively quickly. That is the cause of IAEJ! Let us make it our cause as well!
